Microsoft and Activision plan to unveil formal details on Call of Duty: Black Ops 6 on June 9, following the Xbox Games Showcase event. That has not stopped Activision from releasing further teasers for the next first-person shooter.

Activision has released a new teaser video for the game on the official Call of Duty YouTube account, following the debut of Thetruthlies.com the week before. It features both genuine and fictitious clips from the 1990s. This confirms prior reports that Black Ops 6 will take place during the Gulf War in the early 1990s.

Some of the clips include footage of Presidents George H.W. Bush and Bill Clinton, as well as Vice President Al Gore, UK Prime Minister Margaret Thatcher, and Iraq's former and late tyrant Saddam Hussein. It also includes some fictitious video of "Frank's Woods," a clear reference to the 1990s television series Dawson's Creek. The general idea is that the public has been misled about certain nameless occurrences and should wake up to the truth. The outcome of the storyline in Black Ops 6 remains to be seen.

Activision plans to release a live-action "reveal" trailer for Black Ops 6 on Tuesday, May 28. According to unconfirmed rumors, the game will be released on Day One for Xbox Game Pass, potentially increasing membership numbers. Since Microsoft acquired Activision Blizzard, the sole title added to Xbox title Pass is Diablo IV, released in late March.
