Enjoy high-quality calls (High Definition), faster connection of mobile calls, and simultaneous use of voice and data. VoLTE technology (Voice over LTE) is now available for all Primetel Mobile subscribers.

         VoLTE technology allows you to talk on the phone, while at the same time surf on the internet with high-speed data (e.g. to use your maps app).

         With VoLTE technology, mobile calls are connected faster with improved sound quality.

      Enjoy superior voice quality, as VoLTE technology uses High Definition standards in data transmission, offering high-quality sound even in calls with low volume. 



Available to:

All Primetel mobile subscribers who have a compatible device with VoLTE (see below FAQ - Which devices support VoLTE in Primetel's network).

How to activate:

Activating VoLTE on your device is simple. First, make sure your device software is updated with the last release. Go to the 'settings' on your smartphone, select 'Mobile Data'  and then activate calls via 'VoLTE'.

iOS:

  1. Go to Settings
  2. Choose Mobile Data* -> Mobile Data Options -> Voice & Data 
  3. Turn VoLTE 'ON'

*In case you have more than one SIM/eSIM, choose the one you want to use for VoLTE and go to 'Voice & Data'.

Android:

  1. Go to Settings
  2. Choose 'Network & Internet'
  3. Go to 'Mobile Networks'
  4. Turn VoLTE 'ON'

*Useful Tip!
To confirm that VoLTE calls have been activated on an Android smartphone, check if the VoLTE icon has appeared on the Home Screen of your device, next to the signal strength icon.

    Samsung devices: Samsung has already certified most of its latest smartphones, where VoLTE is available with Android 13 or later software versions.

    Apple devices: All iPhone 7 devices onwards, with iOS 13 or later software versions.

    You need to have a device that supports VoLTE and VoLTE service shall be provisioned.

    VoLTE should be switched ON from the device settings.

    Please make sure the device software is updated with the latest software version. 

    VoLTE can be switched OFF from the device settings.

    Huawei

    Go to Settings > System & updates > Software update. If new software is available, you can choose Install now

    Samsung

    Go to Settings > Software update. Check if new software is available and install.

    iPhones

    Go to Settings > General > Software Update>Automatic Updates. Check if new software is available


    There is no mobile data consumption for Volte calls.

    To ensure the best quality of service, any device using VoLTE service must be certified by Primetel. The process of certifying more and more devices from different vendors is ongoing. The certified devices are published on our web page.

    Yes you can use VoLTE with you primary sim card only.

    There are no additional charges for VoLTE calls. All the Voice and Data usage is per existing contract.

    Yes, when there is no 4G coverage, the VoLTE users are served from the 2G/3G network.

    No, when moving from 4G to 2G/3G coverage area the call will continue seamlessly.

    Yes, you can call any number using Volte.

    When the Mobile Data is switched off on your device and the browsing is disabled, VoLTE service is still ON.

    Yes. VoLTE calls can be established while connected to WiFi as well.
