Apple introduced the iPhone 14 and iPhone 14 Plus, size 6.1'' and 6.7'' respectively, in a refined design with impressive improvements for the camera and innovative security features. iPhone 14 and iPhone 14 Plus take excellent photos and videos thanks to the powerful camera system on the back, but also with the new TrueDepth camera on the front, while the new ultrawide camera and Photonic Engine unlock new possibilities for users.
Both come with an A15 Bionic processor that has a 5-core GPU for tremendous performance in demanding processes and is designed with user security and privacy in mind. iPhone 14 and iPhone 14 Plus offer new security features, Crash Detection and Emergency SOS via Satellite, for the first time in the industry. And with long battery life, durable construction and blazing-fast 5G, the new iPhone series is more advanced than ever.
The new iPhone 14 and iPhone 14 Plus will be available in Midnight, Blue, Starlight, Purple and (PRODUCT)RED, with pre-orders starting on September 9, 2022 and deliveries on September 16, 2022 for the iPhone 14, and 7 October 2022 for iPhone 14 Plus.
Available in 6.1'' and 6.7'' sizes, the iPhone 14 and iPhone 14 Plus come with an impressive aluminum construction in 5 shades. The iPhone 14 Plus' large screen is great for streaming movies and gaming, while offering the longest battery life we've ever seen on an iPhone. Both have a redesigned cooling system inside, impressive Super Retina XDR OLED screens with a maximum brightness of 1200nits, a contrast ratio of 2,000,000:1 and Dolby Vision. Furthermore, the screens are coated with Ceramic Shield, the most durable glass ever placed on a smartphone, and their construction is protected against splashes and accidents with water and dust.
iPhone 14 and iPhone 14 Plus set new standards for taking photos and videos with smartphones thanks to the new 12MP main camera sensor that has a larger size and larger pixels, the new TrueDepth camera on the front, the new ultrawide camera, and the Photonic Engine that leads to performance jumps in low-light shooting.
The Photonic Engine dramatically improves low-light performance for shots with all sensors: 2.5x with the main 12MP sensor, 2x with the TrueDepth camera and 2x with the ultrawide camera. By bringing Deep Fusion technology into the equation, image quality is dramatically improved for unprecedented levels of detail, color and information.
The new camera system also includes the following:
New security features bring groundbreaking features to the new iPhones. The new dual-core accelerometer has the ability to detect G force up to 256G, while a new technology gyroscope has been installed. With Crash Detection, the iPhone can sense that the user has been involved in a serious car accident and automatically notify the relevant authorities. This feature is based on both the hardware and a special algorithm of the company that has been trained for millions of hours in real conditions.
Regarding Emergency SOS via Satellite, the iPhone now has the ability to connect to a satellite network in areas where there is no terrestrial network coverage. Users can send messages via the satellite network, as well as report their exact location when in an emergency.
The A15 Bionic processor takes the performance of iPhone 14 and iPhone 14 Plus to the next level. It remains faster than any other processor in the competition, with a 5-core GPU for top quality graphics in demanding games and enhanced camera functions (such as Photonic Engine and Cinematic Mode). The 6-core CPU performs every process smoothly and quickly, while protecting the battery, while the 16-core Neural Engine performs 15.8 trillion calculations.
