Apple announced plans to hold a special event on Tuesday, September 12 at 20:00 p.m. Cyprus Time. Like last year, the event will take place at the Steve Jobs Theater on the Apple Park campus in Cupertino, California.
While the event is expected to be prerecorded, Apple is inviting members of the media to the campus to watch the presentation in person and to presumably have hands-on time with new devices after the products are introduced.
Apple always holds an iPhone event in September, and this year we anticipate the release of the 6.1-inch iPhone 15, 6.7-inch iPhone 15 Plus, 6.1-inch iPhone 15 Pro, and 6.7-inch iPhone 15 Pro Max. All models are anticipated to include a USB-C port rather than a Lightning port, the Dynamic Island and an upgraded 5G chip by Qualcomm.
Additional feature updates for the iPhone 15 Pro and iPhone 15 Pro Max will be made available, but not for the basic iPhone 15 devices. The iPhone 15 Pro models will have a titanium frame rather than a stainless steel frame, and a small redesign is anticipated with narrower bezels and slight tweaks to the curvature of the corners.
The iPhone 15 Pro and Pro Max are said to be equipped with Apple's first 3-nanometer CPU, the A17, and speculations say that it will have an Action button in place of a mute switch. Similar to the Action button on the Apple Watch Ultra, the Action button might be programmable.
While the cameras on both Pro versions will receive improvements, the iPhone 15 Pro Max is anticipated to feature a periscope zoom lens that would increase the optical zoom from 3x to 5x or 6x. The largest Pro Max device will be able to use the feature due to the size of the necessary hardware.
Also, we anticipate the Apple Watch Series 9 and a new iteration of the Apple Watch Ultra to be released alongside the new iPhone 15 variants.
The Apple TV app, YouTube, and the company's website will all stream the fall event live.
