Elon Musk announced Tesla is building a humanoid robot

Tesla’s CEO, Elon Musk announced during the company’s AI event that they will build a humanoid robot.

Musk revealed details about the Tesla Bot, like its height of 5'8", the weight of 125 lbs, and a top speed of 5 mph (8 km/h). He also said that the bot is meant to be "nice’’ and that Tesla has engineered it to be slow and underpowered in case things go wrong.

Elon Musk sees the Tesla Bot as a testament to Tesla's chipset capabilities and the Artificial Intelligence algorithms it develops, as it includes the car's autonomous navigation system and a plethora of sensors to help it move smoothly.

It should be mentioned that the robot presented on stage wasn’t functional, but Musk stated that in the future you will be able to give him orders like ‘’please go to the store and bring me groceries’’.
