EU officially launches digital COVID-19 vaccine certificate

The European Union has launched its digital COVID-19 certificate that covers three different types of certificates: a vaccination certificate, a test certificate, and a certificate of recovery.

The COVID-19 certificate, which includes a QR code and a digital signature, can either be presented in digital form or printed. People who have the certificate don’t need to get an additional COVID-19 test or quarantine when traveling in the EU. The certificate only recognizes EU-approved COVID-19 vaccines from AstraZeneca, Pfizer / BioNTech, Moderna, and Johnson & Johnson.

It should be mentioned that non-EU countries, like the United Kingdom, have started rolling out their own systems, and some states in the United States, like New York, have their own COVID-19 vaccine certificates.
