Google has recently made changes to the Google Play Store policy, which will take effect on May 11, 2022. One of these changes concerns third-party applications that allow the user to record phone calls.

From the aforementioned date onwards, developers will not be able to use the Accessibility API, stressing that this code is not designed for applications that request to record telephone calls. This means that all related applications will be removed from Google Play.

Google had begun removing call recording from Android 10 onwards, largely due to pressure from many countries around the world to protect the privacy and security of its users.

Note, of course, that the new policy only applies to third-party call recording applications of the Google Play Store. The native provision of this feature as we know it from Pixel smartphones and Xiaomi devices will continue to work normally.
