Instagram has always been a platform that strives to enhance user engagement and creativity. And now, the popular social networking app has added a long-awaited feature that is sure to provide even more fun and expression to its users: the ability to reply to posts with GIFs. The announcement was made by Adam Mosseri, the head of Instagram, during a conversation with Meta CEO Mark Zuckerberg.

Mosseri described the new feature as a long-awaited feature, acknowledging the high user demand for this feature. With the addition of GIFs to comments, Instagram users can now go beyond words and emojis to express themselves with animations from Giphy, a service owned by Meta but mandated by the UK Competition and Markets Authority to sell it.

In addition, Mosseri also revealed that Instagram is testing another interesting feature called lyrics for Reels, as well as new editing capabilities for the latter. In the coming weeks, users will be able to split videos, up or down the playback speed and replace clips in their timeline.

This latest addition of GIFs in comments may be a sign that Instagram is finally actively listening to its users' comments.
