It's official now, after months of rumours. On October 29, Rockstar Games will finally release the first Red Dead Redemption game for PC players, along with the additional pack Undead Nightmare, which has a horror theme.

The publisher reports that Double Eleven, the developer, has brought the open-world Western action game, which was first published by Rockstar San Diego back in 2010, to the PC platform. Additionally, the game will support 4K, Ultrawide (21:9), and Super Ultrawide (32:9) monitors, among other unique features. Support for the HDR10 high dynamic range standard will also be included.

In addition, the game will utilise Nvidia's Frame Generation technology and the graphics upscaling platforms AMD FSR 3.0 and Nvidia DLSS 3.7. Along with other features, Rockstar says the PC version will have "adjustable draw distances, shadow quality settings, and more." In the upcoming weeks, it's likely that we will find out more information on the PC version's graphical capability.

Red Dead Redemption for PC pre-orders, according to Rockstar, will open later this week and be accessible on its own website in addition to Steam and the Epic Games Store. The PC port's price has not yet been made public.

The game, which is set in the final years of the American Wild West in 1911, revolves around former bandit John Marston, who is pursuing three members of his former gang. Marston is attempting to contain a zombie outbreak akin to that of the Wild West in the Undead Nightmare DLC pack.

Red Dead Redemption 2, the second game in the series, was released by Rockstar San Diego in 2018, despite the fact that the plot of the game is essentially a prequel to the first. In 2019, the game was released on the PC. Although Rockstar has seen enormous sales success with both games, there has been no indication on whether a third game in the series is being developed.
