WhatsApp statuses will be posted as stories on Facebook and Instagram

WhatsApp will be introduced to Meta's Accounts Centre "over the next few months". Once completed, you will be able to automatically broadcast your WhatsApp Statuses to Facebook and Instagram Stories.

Adding your WhatsApp account to the Meta Accounts Centre will be optional and turned off by default. If you do decide to cross-post your WhatsApp Statuses, you have control over how and where they appear - on your Facebook Story, Instagram Stories, or both.

Accounts Centre also allows you to log in to numerous Meta-owned apps using the same account. In the future, Meta intends to provide the option to manage your avatars, Meta AI stickers, and Imagine Me creations in one location via Accounts Centre for all Meta apps.

According to Meta, adding WhatsApp to Accounts Centre does not change the fact that your WhatsApp messages and calls are always protected by end-to-end encryption, which means that "no one else, not even WhatsApp or Meta, can read or hear them".
