X will now make your posts visible to users who you have blocked. In a response on Monday, X owner Elon Musk stated that the "block function will block that account from engaging with, but not blocking seeing, public post."

When you try to visit the profile of someone who has blocked you, X currently displays the notification "You're blocked". In addition to banning all posts, it stops you from viewing their replies, media, followers, or following list.

According to a source at X, the platform is implementing this adjustment because users may already view posts from restricted users when using another account or checked out. However, many users have discovered that X blocks viewing someone's profile while logged out.

Musk has been loud about his hatred for the block button. Last year, he stated that the functionality "makes no sense" and should be deprecated in favor of a stronger silence. He threatened to remove the ability to block users on the network, except for direct communications.

Although X's block button prevents interaction with a person's posts, they can still view them, potentially allowing bad actors to continue tormenting their victims.
