The global smartphone landscape has reached another massive turning point as Xiaomi officially unveiled its next-generation flagship devices in China. Designed to push processing boundaries while addressing long-standing pain points like privacy and endurance, Xiaomi 18 Pro and Xiaomi 18 Pro Max deliver a compelling mixture of raw mechanical power and intelligent software integration.

At the core of this hardware revolution lies Qualcomm technology. Xiaomi 18 Pro becomes one of the very first devices to feature Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 6, while the larger Xiaomi 18 Pro Max steps up the silicon game with Snapdragon 8 Elite Extreme Gen 6. By housing these computing engines, the series powers Xiaomi HyperOS 4, enabling intensive artificial intelligence operations directly on the hardware itself without relying on cloud processing networks.

A standout visual highlight is the triumphant comeback of the rear secondary display. Far beyond a simple design gimmick, this panel pairs directly with Xiao AI to offer customized mini-apps. Users can interact with tailored widgets, set timers, track habits, or use the panel as a high-precision camera viewfinder without waking the main display.

Up front, both models feature gorgeous LTPO AMOLED panels with dynamic 1Hz to 120Hz refresh rates, peak brightness up to 4000 nits, and Xiaomi Dragon Crystal Glass 3 protection. The standard version features a 6.4-inch display, whereas the larger counterpart expands to 6.9 inches. Security is bolstered by a hardware-level privacy screen that blocks angled viewing, hides sensitive notifications automatically, and toggles instantly via a dedicated side button.

Photography remains a top priority, featuring identical camera systems across both sizes. Headlining the setup is a 200MP Light Hunter 960 main camera accompanied by an equally impressive 200MP periscope telephoto lens offering 3.2x optical zoom, alongside a 50MP ultra-wide sensor. Powering these components are massive batteries: a 7000mAh unit in Xiaomi 18 Pro and a record-breaking 8500mAh cell inside Xiaomi 18 Pro Max, complete with 100W wired and 50W wireless fast charging.

Starting at roughly 800 euros in China, the series ranges up to a luxury Special Edition trim priced at around 1440 euros featuring transparent red accents. An official global release will follow later in the year, bringing these powerhouse devices to international markets.
