After repeated delays, Amazon has finally unveiled Alexa+, its next-generation AI assistant. Alexa+ is built on Amazon Bedrock and can access both Amazon's Nova and Anthropic models, depending on the task at hand.
According to Amazon, Alexa+ can have genuine, flowing conversations and grasp context and meaning. Alexa+ will get more personalised as you use it, remembering things like food preferences, allergies, weekly customs, and more.
Alexa+ can help you manage your schedule, recollect information from papers, summarise emails, and much more. It may also deliver correct responses to real-time subjects because to relationships with key news organisations such as the Associated Press, Reuters, TIME, USA TODAY, Politico, and many more.
Alexa+ may be accessible through Amazon Echo devices, the Alexa mobile app, and the all-new web browser. Because Alexa+ is linked to your Amazon account, it can remember the context of previous chats, allowing you to continue where you left off across devices.
Here are some examples of what you can do with the new Alexa+ experience:
- Create new Routines by voice. Customers enjoy creating personalised automations with Alexa, commonly known as Routines, to help them get through their day. With Alexa+, you can now create complicated Routines with a simple voice command, no app required.
- Chat casually with Alexa+ to find out what to listen to next. With Alexa+, you may look up a song you heard during the credits of a TV show without knowing the artist or title, or ask Alexa+ to help you discover new music in your favourite genre. Simply ask Alexa+ to play the latest trending pop song and see it take action.
- Move the music from room to room. Simply say "play the music upstairs" or "play the music everywhere, but don't wake the baby" and Alexa+ will understand that you want to play on all speakers except those in the nursery.
- Navigate to your favourite scene on Prime Video. Ask Alexa+ to skip to a certain scene in a movie on Prime Video without having to fast-forward by providing information such as the actor or character's name or a phrase. For example, "What is that movie in which Bradley Cooper sings a duet?" "Jump to that sceneā¦" will play on your Fire TV.
- Get an overview of what has transpired around your house. With your Ring membership, Alexa+ may deliver a summary of detected camera events and display the related Ring footage on compatible Echo Show devices. So, if you received a box or had a dog walker come by, Alexa+ can show you the highlights of the day. The experience will also work with Ring's new Smart Video Search, making it easier to identify specific moments you care about. You can ask Alexa+ specific queries like "Did someone take out the garbage bins?" or "When was the last time the dog went for a walk?"
Amazon Alexa+ can connect to popular services such as Uber and OpenTable and perform activities on your behalf. Amazon has launched a preview of the new Alexa AI Multi-Agent SDK, which will enab
Amazon Alexa+ will cost $19.99 per month, but it will be free for Amazon Prime members. The Alexa+ deployment will begin in the United States over the next few weeks, with the Echo Show 8, 10, 15, and 21 devices.
