During WWDC 2024, Apple first revealed Apple Intelligence, a suite of AI features for iPhone, iPad, and Mac. Apple stated today that iOS 18.1, iPadOS 18.1, and macOS Sequoia 15.1 will have the first set of Apple Intelligence features, following months of beta testing. Apple Intelligence capabilities are accessible for free on all compatible devices.
The initial set of Apple Intelligence features introduced today includes a more natural and conversational Siri, Systemwide Writing Tools, an upgraded Photos app with AI capabilities, and an AI-powered Notifications experience. Read about them briefly below:
With the device and Siri language set to U.S. English, Apple Intelligence is now accessible on the iPhone 16, iPhone 16 Plus, iPhone 16 Pro, iPhone 16 Pro Max, iPhone 15 Pro, iPhone 15 Pro Max, iPad with A17 Pro or M1 and later, and Mac with M1 and later.
In the upcoming months, Apple plans to release further Apple Intelligence capabilities, such as visual intelligence, ChatGPT integration, Image Playground, Genmoji, and more. The expansion of Apple Intelligence to localised English in Australia, Canada, Ireland, New Zealand, South Africa, and the United Kingdom is scheduled for December. Chinese, English (India), English (Singapore), French, German, Italian, Japanese, Korean, Portuguese, Spanish, Vietnamese, and more languages will all be able to access Apple Intelligence in April.
