Meta has unveiled a new chapter in its wearable tech ambitions, joining forces with Oakley to introduce a groundbreaking product: the Oakley Meta HSTN Performance Glasses. This latest collaboration signals a deepening of Meta’s alliance with EssilorLuxottica, following the success of the Ray-Ban Meta smart glasses. Now, the partnership broadens to include Oakley, one of the most iconic names in performance and sport-focused eyewear.

Blending Oakley’s bold design language with Meta’s rapidly evolving artificial intelligence technology, the Oakley Meta HSTN aims to redefine what performance eyewear can offer. The device is not only engineered for athletes and active users but also designed to seamlessly integrate AI into everyday life—without sacrificing style or comfort.

Built on the well-known Oakley HSTN frame, the Meta HSTN model introduces a new level of functionality for smart eyewear. At first glance, it retains the minimalist and sporty aesthetic Oakley is known for, but packed within the lightweight frame is an array of advanced technology. A discreet Ultra HD (3K) camera is seamlessly embedded into the frame, enabling users to record high-quality, hands-free video on the move. Open-ear speakers are also integrated into the arms, providing audio without blocking ambient sound—ideal for staying aware during outdoor activities.

These glasses are also designed to keep pace with an active lifestyle. With an IPX4 water-resistance rating, the Meta HSTN glasses can endure sweat, light rain, and the occasional splash, making them well-suited to everything from intense workouts to daily commutes. Battery life is another strong point: users can expect up to eight hours of continuous use, or 19 hours on standby. For those on the go, a portable charging case is included, extending the total usage time to an impressive 48 hours.

But the real innovation lies in Meta AI, the onboard virtual assistant built into the glasses. With simple voice commands, wearers can ask for real-time information—such as current wind speed while on a golf course—or activate the camera to capture spontaneous moments. The hands-free nature of these interactions is particularly appealing for athletes, outdoor adventurers, or anyone looking for a more streamlined tech experience during movement.

In keeping with Oakley’s strong ties to the world of sports, the launch campaign for the Meta HSTN glasses will be headlined by two of Team Oakley’s top athletes: football superstar Kylian Mbappé and NFL quarterback Patrick Mahomes. Their involvement not only underscores the performance credentials of the glasses but also positions them as aspirational tools for athletes and fans alike.

Pre-orders for the limited-edition Oakley Meta HSTN will begin on July 11, with a price tag of $499. A standard version of the collection, starting at $399, will follow later in the summer. The glasses will first be made available in several major markets, including the United States, Canada, United Kingdom, Ireland, France, Italy, Spain, Austria, Belgium, Germany, Sweden, Norway, Finland, and Denmark. By the end of the year, additional regions such as Mexico, India, and the United Arab Emirates are expected to join the list.

To build momentum and capture public interest, the Oakley Meta HSTN will debut at key international sporting events. First up is Fanatics Fest, held from June 20 to 22, followed by UFC International Fight Week from June 25 to 27. These high-profile appearances aim to showcase the glasses in real-world environments and among audiences already attuned to innovation and performance.

This new venture represents more than just a product launch—it reflects a broader shift toward integrating smart technology into mainstream, high-performance accessories. By merging Meta’s AI capabilities with Oakley’s design and sport heritage, the Meta HSTN glasses could play a key role in shaping the future of wearable tech.

With AI now stepping directly into the space of athletic performance and everyday utility, the Oakley Meta HSTN stands as a bold example of what’s possible when cutting-edge technology meets design built for action.
