Assassin's Creed Mirage took center stage at the Ubisoft Forward event, with the company releasing a new story trailer for the premise of the new episode, as well as an extensive gameplay walkthrough that confirms the series is returning to its roots, at least in terms of gameplay.

Assassin's Creed Mirage stars Basim Ibn Ishaq, a minor character from Assassin's Creed Valhalla, in a setting set in 9th century AD Baghdad. Unlike more recent epics, Mirage will set aside the RPG elements and return to the action-adventure parkour style we've come to love.

Basim uses various tools (e.g. knives, smoke bombs), jumping off rooftops to stab his opponents. One interesting feature is Assassin's Focus, which allows him to tag and execute multiple opponents in a row. In the area of movement, gamers will benefit from corner swings and jumping on objects to reach rooftops with ease.

Assassin's Creed Mirage will be released on October 12, 2023 for PS4, PS5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X/S and Windows PC.
