Having stayed for 6 months on the International Space Station (ISS), the German astronaut Matthias Maurer decided to share with the rest of the world his experiences of what it is like to live and work in space. Maurer had traveled to the ISS aboard the SpaceX Crew Dragon with Tom Marshburn, Raja Chari and Kayla Barron in November 2021.

This was Maurer's first space trip, which made him really ecstatic about the whole experience. A personal highlight was when they entered orbit with the Falcon 9 rocket and looked down at Earth, but also the first spacewalk that describes it as "entering another world".

The crew of the Expedition 66 mission managed to take more than 120,000 stunning photos and Maurer hopes to find the time to discard them to create a collection of the best.

He was equally impressed by the spectacular entry of the Crew Dragon capsule into Earth and its landing off the coast of Florida a few days ago.

As I passed through the plasma I saw a terrible colored light outside the capsule and then the Gs increased, the parachutes opened and the intense rotation began. It was the moment I was most afraid of how I would react to this situation. Would I feel very nauseous? Was I very happy and euphoric when the procedure was completed?

It is worth mentioning that as soon as he returned to Earth, Maurer felt a strong heaviness in his head and neck, but he admitted that the conditions are better and finally the food remained stable on his plate.
