Double Dragon Gaiden: Rise of the Dragons officially announced, coming this summer!

Modus Games and Secret Base have officially announced Double Dragon Gaiden: Rise of the Dragons, a new installment in the legendary beat 'em up game series that is enhanced with roguelite elements, co-op mode (local and online) and graded difficulty without losing its side-scrolling nature.

We are set in New York City in the year 199X, with the city almost completely destroyed by nuclear war. Citizens are struggling to survive amidst riots, crime and chaos in the streets. Gangs infest the ungovernable city and try to impose their own rules, which does not sit well with Billy and Jimmy Lee, who decide to take matters into their own hands to cleanse the ravaged city of thugs.

In Double Dragon: Rise of the Dragons, we'll find 13 playable characters with different characteristics and the ability to upgrade their skill sets as the game progresses. Gamers will be able to take on the 4 gangs in any order they wish, however, the game's system significantly boosts the remaining gangs every time you beat one of them. This boost translates into more difficulty, more enemies, and more missions until you reach the final one.

Double Dragon Gaiden: Rise of the Dragons will be released this summer on Windows PC, PS4, PS5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X/S, and Nintendo Switch.
