Elden Ring: Shadow of the Erdtree new story trailer reveals the horror

FromSoftware released a new trailer for the Elden Ring expansion, Shadow of the Erdtree, providing a new look at the DLC's tale. This contains additional insights on its imposing new enemy, Messmer the Impaler, a powerful demigod with a strong tie to figures from the original Elden Ring saga.

The new teaser for Elden Ring: Shadow of the Erdtree reveals what drove the demigod Miquella to a new land, which was destroyed by Messmer's flame. Miquella sacrificed himself for this cause. The trailer closes with Miquella's followers banding together and inviting new fighters to join them on their quest to dethrone Messmer and his burning troops.

FromSoft's latest trailer for Shadow of the Erdtree delves into the mysterious lore of Elden Ring, but does not reveal any new gameplay. Students of the Elden Ring myth will find valuable information about the individuals and their relationships in this complex family saga.

Shadow of the Erdtree transports players to the Land of Shadow, a previously undiscovered location located near Mohgwyn Palace. They'll explore the dark realm on a terrain roughly the size of the game's Limgrave region, following in the footsteps of the mysterious Empyrean Miquella.

Elden Ring: Shadow of the Erdtree will be available on June 21. The addition will be available on PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X, and PC via Steam, much as the original Elden Ring.
