Facebook is targeting Clubhouse with its new audio features

Facebook introduces new audio features to the platform that will offer a unique audio experience to its users, aiming to cause the strength of the Clubhouse.

The first feature announced by the company is called "Soundbites", which will include creative short-form creative audio clips. With «Soundbites» users will be able to recount personal experiences, opinions on issues of their choice, jokes, and all sorts of content.

In fact, ‘’Soundbites’’, sound like the short voice clips you share with your friends during your chat, only in this case they will be "shared" publicly in Facebook’s Newsfeed. Soundbites will be available to a limited number of creators before it becomes widely available.

However, if you’re interested in long-form audio, the company also announced you’d be able to listen to podcasts directly in the next few months. It’ll recommend podcasts based on your interests, and you’ll be able to share them or comment on them.

Meanwhile, Facebook plans to launch an audio-only version of rooms, called Live Audio Rooms, with users being able to interact with their favorite public figures or creators. Fans will also get the opportunity to donate to creators during a live audio session.

The company also announced that wants to build out more interesting tools including a variety of sound effects, voice filters, automated captions, translations, and AI-powered noise cancellation technology.
