Facebook has officially announced that is rolling out Live Audio Rooms feature to creators and public figures globally.

In a Live Audio Room, a user can host a room and deliver a speech to users that join, and they can be defined as speakers or listeners. Facebook wants to make the feature available for all public figures, creators and groups. At the same time, users will have the ability to raise money for a nonprofit or fundraiser in Live Audio Rooms. Listeners can show their support or appreciation to the host by sending stars, a Facebook virtual currency.

For the time being, the option to create chat rooms is only available on iOS, but the company is testing the ability to create Live Audio Rooms on Android. It is also experimenting with the ability to listen in on a call from the desktop.

Live Audio Rooms appear on the Facebook News Feed and users can also sign up to receive notifications when a Room starts. Finally, users can enable live captions, "raise a hand" to request to be a speaker, and send reactions.
