According to Google, the new audio tool is highly customizable. Users can choose different AI voices and adjust playback speeds, tailoring the experience to personal preferences. Readers of a document can access the AI-generated audio simply by selecting the Tool dropdown menu and choosing Audio followed by Listen to this tab. This ensures that the feature benefits multiple audiences, whether for professional collaboration, study, or personal use.
For document authors who want to highlight audio capabilities more prominently, Google offers the option to embed a dedicated audio button directly within a Doc. By navigating to Insert and then Audio, creators can place a clickable button that lets readers instantly begin listening. Google first hinted at the concept of turning documents into AI podcasts back in April.
