Google Maps update will offer eco-friendly routes to users

A planned update for Google Maps will change the app to no longer show the fastest routes by default. The new algorithm of Google Maps will focus on how much gas is being spent and show users the most fuel-efficient way to get to point "B" from point "A."

However, if you are in a hurry and you are interested in getting to your destination as soon as possible, you can adjust your preference in settings so that you always get the fastest route.

Google simultaneously wants to make life easier for citizens who use public transportation, so it’s working on providing the essential information, such as timing estimates to give users a more accurate estimated time of arrival (ETA).
