Google confirmed that it will make it easier for Android users to choose from more alternative search engines to use by default in Europe.

Back in 2018, the European Commission had announced that Google should provide more opportunities to competitors on Android devices and the search engine should be separated from the operating system. Then Google abolished its search engine as a default option for Android and made it possible for users to choose one of several search engines when they first launch their smartphone.

Google Search will therefore be included in a list of about 12 other search engines, but the company is extremely confident that users will continue choosing its search engine, as Google noted, “we have always believed in offering people and businesses choice and competing on the merits of our services. And we know that people choose Google because it’s helpful; not because there are no alternatives.”
