Google surprised many when it sent out invites for a hardware launch in August. According to the invitation, the event will focus on "the best of Google AI, Android software, and the Pixel portfolio of devices." The mention of Pixel devices caught the imagination of tech aficionados, who began speculating about the release of the Pixel 9 series.

Google's Pixel 9 series will be officially unveiled at the August hardware event, as confirmed by a teaser on the Google Store page. This year's Pixel series appears to be arriving considerably earlier, since the Pixel 8 series debuted in October 2023.

The teaser showcases the design of the Pixel 9 series, which aligns with rumors from last month. According to the previous leak, the Pixel 9, Pixel 9 Pro, and Pixel 9 Pro XL would have a rounded rectangular camera module with prominent circular edges, as shown in the teaser published by Google.

Although the official teaser provides few specifics regarding the Pixel 9 series, it prominently shows "IX," which appears to confirm the nomenclature for the company's forthcoming flagships. The page's URL also includes "google_pixel_9_pro," confirming that the Pixel 9 series will be available in August.

Earlier reports suggested that the Pixel 9 and Pixel 9 Pro would be the same size as the iPhone 15 Pro. Their elder sibling, the Pixel 9 Pro XL, could be similar in size to the iPhone 15 Pro Max. The Pixel 9 and Pixel 9 Pro were leaked to have a dual-camera arrangement on the back, while the Pixel 9 Series was shown to have a triple-camera setup.

Early test copies of the Pixel 9, powered by the Tensor G4 chipset, appeared in the AnTuTu benchmark, indicating slight improvements over the Pixel 8. In addition to the Pixel 9 series, Google is expected to announce the Pixel Watch 3 and Pixel Fold 2.
