Netflix will release a mobile game version of the indie hit Hades in March. Hades is a rogue-like dungeon crawler in which you must hack and slash your way out of the Greek mythological Underworld. Pre-registration is required to play the streamer's special edition of the game, which will be available on iOS devices starting March 19.

Netflix claims Hades will offer "uncompromised gameplay for mobile," with features such as 60 FPS performance, revamped menus and interfaces, completely adjustable on-screen controls, cloud saves, achievements, and offline play.

Supergiant Games released Hades in 2020. Initially available on macOS, PC, and Nintendo Switch, it eventually expanded to PS4, PS5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X/S platforms. It has sold over 1 million copies. The game received numerous accolades and favorable reviews from the industry.

Netflix adds Hades to its list of over 80 mobile games available to users, including exclusive rights to "Grand Theft Auto Trilogy: The Definitive Edition," which the streamer claims helped to treble game engagement when it launched in 2023. Other notable mobile titles on Netflix include Ubisoft's Rainbow Six SMOL and the upcoming Katana Zero, Braid Anniversary Edition, Paper Trail, and Monument Valley.

As the company continues its intentions to expand into gaming, which it began in 2021, it has over 90 games in various stages of production, including Squid Game, Virgin River, and Rebel Moon titles based on Netflix-owned intellectual property.
