How to delete your phone number from Facebook's database

You've probably been asked at some point in the past to register your phone number with Facebook as a security measure for your account. But did you know that there is now a way to delete it from the Meta databases? The truth is that the company never announced the addition of the relevant tool, but it is good to know that it was done only last May and it is "hidden" quite well in a support article in the Facebook Help Center.

How to delete your phone number from Facebook

The process is quite simple, as long as you follow the steps below:

• Visit the relevant Facebook page from the web browser
• Select the contact information you want to search in Meta's database (eg phone number, email address) and click Next.
• Enter the phone number or email address you want Meta to search and choose to search Facebook, Messenger and Instagram
• After a few seconds you will receive a notification on your phone or email about the action you have taken.
• Finally, Meta will ask you if you want to delete the number from the database and you can press Confirm.
