Instagram creators Kevin Systrom and Mike Krieger are back on the scene with a new project that they say will change everything we know about news apps.
Specifically, from today they are launching the Artifact app for Android and iOS devices, which promises to serve quality and cross-pollinated news from authoritative sources based on the user's interests thanks to the help of a new AI algorithm.
Users opening Artifact for the first time will be able to select at least 10 topics of interest to them (e.g. politics, fitness, etc.) and add (if they wish) any subscriptions they have to various news networks, so that the algorithm will show them the most relevant news for them.
According to the creators, it is understandable that at first there will be inconsistencies in relation to the user's interests and the news the algorithm displays, but as time goes on, the system will be rapidly trained to work as well as possible.
At a later time, Artifact will also get social networking elements so that you can comment, share and watch the news with your friends.
