Instagram launches new feature 'Map Search'

Instagram has launched a new feature, called Map Search which allows users to find places close to the location that they might be interested in visiting, such as restaurants, cafes, and parks.

With the new feature Map Search, Instagram users could access the memories and publications that other people have published in nearby places of their interest, allowing them to find new places.

The new Instagram Map Search can be used in two ways:

Through the Explore tab: In the upper right corner of the navigation tab, Instagram has added a new map icon. When you tap it, you will be able to browse popular places near you that have a lot of hashtags and are classified by categories, such as restaurants, cafes, and other points of interest.

Search by hashtag: Similarly, when you search for a hashtag on Instagram, the places associated with that tag will appear on the search results page. For example, when you search for nearby places using the hashtag #restaurant, nearby stores that have posted using that hashtag appears on the search results page.

The new feature Map Search rolled out to countries such as Italy, Greece, Spain, and Portugal, but will reach the rest of the world in the coming weeks.
