Instagram to test ads on its Shop tab

Instagram has confirmed that it is expanding its ad activity, as it announced that it will proceed with a new ad placement test on its Shop tab. Ads will involve either a single image or carousel of them.

However, few advertisers will be able to participate, but there are plans to expand the product in the future. Currently, the advertisers are Away, Fenty Beauty and Claire paint based in the USA.

A few months ago, Instagram officially launched ads on Reels, and had also begun testing sticker ads, which would allow people to include stickers in their stories advertising a product.

It isn’t possible to predict how successful these ads will be in marketing, but brands will probably want to try it just to make sure their products are seen by Instagram’s billion users.
