We are looking for an IREG Engineer to join our Technology Team!

The IREG Engineer is responsible for the end-to-end technical enablement, testing, and launch of international roaming partnerships. This role ensures full interoperability between the company’s mobile core network and external roaming partners, covering GSM/UMTS/LTE/5G, VoLTE/IMS, and all associated signalling and billing interfaces. The engineer will work closely with internal engineering teams, commercial roaming teams, and global operator partners to deliver high-quality roaming services.

Location: This is an on-site, full time position based at our headquarters in either Nicosia or Limassol

What will you be doing?

• Lead the full IREG process for new roaming partners, from technical preparation to commercial launch.
• Review and validate IR.21 and technical data sheets; ensure correct configuration across HLR/HSS/UDM, MSC, STP/DRA, EPC, IMS, and firewalls.
• Plan and execute IREG test cases across registration, authentication, voice, SMS, data, CAMEL, supplementary services, and emergency call behaviours.
• Conduct VoLTE/IMS roaming testing including SIP/SDP interworking, IMS registration flows, RTP path validation, QoS metrics, SRVCC and emergency call scenarios.
• Coordinate end-to-end the inter-operator testing including IPX reachability, latency, and QoS verification.
• Perform TAP and NRTRDE testing in collaboration with internal billing teams and external clearing houses.
• Validate rating and charging alignment with IOT agreements and partner outputs.
• Support configuration activities across core network nodes and perform detailed signalling analysis (SS7/MAP, Diameter, SIP, RTP).
• Use protocol analyzers and tools (e.g., Wireshark, Diameter traces, SBC logs etc) for troubleshooting.
• Resolve interoperability issues jointly with partner operators and IPX providers.
• Provide technical sign-off for roaming service opening.
• Support commercial teams with launch readiness inputs and risk assessments.
• Deliver knowledge transfer to NOC/Operations for post-launch monitoring, KPIs, and incident handling.

• Degree in Telecommunications, Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or relevant hands-on experience.
• Minimum 3 years of experience in mobile core, roaming, or interconnect engineering.
• Solid understanding of 2G, 3G, 4G, and 5G core network architectures.
• Strong knowledge of signalling protocols (SS7/MAP/CAP, Diameter, SIP/SDP, RTP).
• Experience with IREG, IoT, and VoLTE roaming testing.
• Familiarity with roaming billing standards (TAP, RAP, NRTRDE).
• Experience working with IPX providers and clearing houses.
• Good knowledge of GSMA roaming standards (IR.21, IR.24, IR.35, IR.50, IR.88).
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to manage multiple partners and tasks in parallel.
• Clear communication style and confidence working across technical and commercial teams.
• High attention to detail and a strong sense of ownership.
