Netflix has announced two new features that will show parents what their kids are watching on the platform, in an effort to address their concerns about inappropriate movies or TV shows for their children’s age.

Subscribers will now be able to see a new top list for kids and family profiles featuring the most popular children's shows and movies. Netflix says that list will be updated daily to reflect what its 208 million subscribers in 93 countries around the world watch.

To help parents keep an eye on what their children are watching, Netflix is also sending out a two-month email newsletter full of suggestions based on children's viewing habits, including thematic preferences and parental control tips. This will take place for parents who have a kids profile set up starting July 16th.

All of these features arrive as Netflix increases content for kids and realizes that there is stiff competition from other platforms of this kind. In fact, the company extended the US licensing agreement for Universal animated films, giving it access to Illumination and Dreamworks movies such as Minions: The Rise of Gru.
