The largest collection of passwords in the world was published and contains 8.4 billion passwords, which were most likely collected from previous data and security breaches, according to Cyber News.

It is claimed that all passwords are 6 to 20 characters long, with non-ASCII characters and blank spaces removed. Initially, the file contained 82 billion codes, but after CyberNews testing, the actual number of compromised codes was 8,459,060,239.

The collection of these passwords was named RockYou2021 and is related to the 2009 RockYou data breach, when fraudsters gained access to the servers of a company that created widgets for MySpace and obtained more than 32 million passwords stored in plain text.

There are only 4.7 billion people on the internet and the RockYou2021 collection w may contain the passwords of almost two-thirds of the world's population. Therefore, it is a good idea to check CyberNews' Personal Data Leak Checker and Leaked Password Checker to see if your passwords are included on RockYou2021.

If you're on the list, change your passwords right away by using a password manager or password generator to create strong and unique passwords for each of your online accounts.
