Steam Deck: Valve unveils its own portable game console

Valve has officially unveiled the Steam Deck, its own portable game console – like Nintendo Switch – that will offer gamers the opportunity to play thousands of platform games.

In terms of technical features, the Steam Deck has a 7 ’L LCD touch screen with left and right thumbsticks, trigger and back buttons, as well a left and a right touch panel. Gamers will have access to Steam library once they log in, so they will practically have a portable gaming PC at their disposal.

  • GPU: 8 RDNA 2 CUs, 1.0-1.6GHz (up to 1.6 TFlops FP32)
  • 16 GB LPDDR5 RAM (5500 MT/s)
  • 1280 x 800px (16:10 aspect ratio)
  • 7" optically bonded LCD
  • Bluetooth 5.0 (support for controllers, accessories and audio)
  • Wi-FiDual-band Wi-Fi radio, 2.4GHz and 5GHz, 2 x 2 MIMO, IEEE 802.11a/b/g/n/ac

The Steam Deck will be launched in December with an initial cost of €419 (64GB) and €679 (512GB).
