TikTok is developing its Instagram competitor

According to pictures uploaded by users, TikTok's next photo-sharing app could be called TikTok Notes, a competitor to Instagram. TikTok also stated that the app was under development. TikTok users have recently received pop-up notifications promoting a new TikTok Notes app for sharing images.

The message states that the firm will soon introduce "a new app for photo posts" called TikTok Notes, which would allow users to share their existing photo posts. Users can choose not to share their image posts with the new app.

TikTok stated that the app is under development but has yet to be released.

Separately, the TikTok-owned URL photo.tiktok.com displays a placeholder marketing image with the caption "Opening in TikTok Notes."

The TikTok APK file, which can be installed on Android devices, revealed that the company is developing a photo-sharing app named TikTok Photos. However, the newest TikTok pop-ups indicate that the business is considering a different name for the app.

TikTok and Meta are actively fighting for social media space. Meta launched a vertical-first video player for Facebook, while ByteDance plans to build a photo-sharing app. TikTok is experimenting with several forms, including 30-minute movies and text posts like X and Threads.
