TikTok reportedly surpasses YouTube in viewing time per user

According to a report from App Annie, users in the UK and US are spending more time on TikTok than on YouTube.

While YouTube continues to be the most popular video site in terms of users and total video seen, TikTok users now watch more content monthly than YouTube users. In fact, App Annie, an app analytics firm, indicated that TikTok was the most downloaded app last year.

YouTube, on the other hand, is trying to compete with TikTok by launching the YouTube Shorts feature in May – Youtube’s TikTok clone. TikTok is one of the rarest popular apps in the world created by China. TikTok's parent company, ByteDance, is headquartered in Beijing and is partly owned by the Chinese government.

The company has reportedly been caught for censoring content internationally on behalf of China. It should be mentioned that TikTok has been banned in India and almost banned in the US.
