Ultimate Sackboy is coming to Android and iOS on February 21

Sony is once again returning to Sackboy, the star of the LittleBigPlanet game series, but this time targeting mobile devices with a new game that will be released on Android and iOS on February 21, 2023.

This is Ultimate Sackboy, a 3D runner game with a philosophy similar to that of Sonic Dash, which will put gamers in the race to overcome the obstacles of...Ultimate Games. Along the way they will have to slide, jump and avoid obstacles and classic enemies from the previous games starring Sackboy and of course climb to the top of the leaderboard against players from all over the world. Ultimate Sackboy will be available for free, but there will be plenty of in-app options for various cosmetics, coins, extra abilities, etc.

It is not the first time, however, that we see Sackboy in a mobile game. It was preceded in 2014 by Run, Sackboy! Run! which was also ported to the PS Vita the following year. Sony, however, is now giving a lot of weight to the expansion of its own franchises on other platforms besides the PlayStation, either in the mobile area, or by exclusively bringing its gaming console to Windows PCs.

Especially for the mobile space, the company has hired from July 2021 Nicola Sebastiani as the head of the mobile division of PlayStation, who was previously the head of content for the highly successful subscription service Apple Arcade.
