Short personal videos can now be recorded and shared immediately in chats, according to a recent WhatsApp announcement. The messaging service claims that the introduction of voice messages, which allowed users to share their voices in a quick and secure manner, revolutionized communication. As a result, it is now expanding on this feature by introducing instant video messages.

Video messages are a real-time way to respond to chats with whatever you want to say and show in 60 seconds,” WhatsApp wrote in a blog post. “We think these will be a fun way to share moments with all the emotion that comes from video, whether it’s wishing someone a happy birthday, laughing at a joke, or bringing good news.”

According to WhatsApp, sending a video message is equally simple to do as sending a voice message. To do this, tap to enter video mode and hold to start recording video. Swipe up to lock the camera and take a hands-free movie. When a video is opened in a conversation, it automatically plays on silent, and pressing it will turn on the sound. All video messages are encrypted from beginning to end.

In the following weeks, all users will be able to access the new functionality, which is rolling out starting today.

The introduction of the new function coincides with WhatsApp's recent addition of a number of new features to its program. Recently, the business unveiled a technology that automatically mutes calls from unidentified numbers. Additionally, it allowed users to make changes to a message within 15 minutes of sending it. Additionally, it is reported that WhatsApp is developing usernames.
