WhatsApp received heavy criticism due to the upcoming changes related to user data management. The instant messaging app, which belongs to Facebook, has asked users to agree to the new usage terms until the 15th of May.
In an effort to clarify that is a win-win situation in the safety and privacy of users, WhatsApp deployment team is testing the possibility of deleting automatically images in chats after a predetermined period or as soon as you leave the conversation.
WABetaInfo, a website dedicated to the newest WhatsApp features, confirms that self-destructing photos cannot be exported from WhatsApp. Although, it is uncertain whether WhatsApp will implement a screenshot detection of self-destructing photos.
The operation of self-destructed images is in a trial phase and we will have to wait for the official launch to learn more details. It should be noted that the operation of self-destructed messages is available on WhatsApp since last November.
