The View Once feature on WhatsApp was launched last year in August as another measure to protect users' privacy, especially when it comes to sensitive content they may share in their conversations (eg passwords, bank details , naked etc.).

Soon the function will be strengthened with an extra layer of security, as the WhatsApp development team is already testing in the latest beta version (2.22.22.3) the blocking of screenshots and screen recording when messages protected by View Once arrive in conversations. Most importantly, however, is that even if the recipient somehow manages to take a screenshot, the final image will be… black.

The View Once function is an option that you can declare for the messages you send so that the recipient has the possibility to see them only once before they are permanently deleted from the conversation. With the extra blocking that Meta is preparing, the only way to be exposed will be if the recipient manages to take a picture of the device…

It is not known when the launch will happen, as it may be tested in the beta version, but that does not mean that it will be approved so soon to reach one of the upcoming final versions of WhatsApp.
