Xiaomi unveils the Mi Mix Fold, its first foldable phone

Xiaomi gives continuity to the famous series Mi MIX, which was previously used by the company to launch new technologies and design ideas. This time it doesn’t present something innovative in terms of design, but it captures some firsts both for itself and for the market of smartphones in general.

Xiaomi Mi MIX FOLD is the first foldable smartphone in the company's history, which follows Samsung's philosophy with the main screen folding inwards. Another first has to do with the use of "Liquid Lens" in the 8MP sensor of the triple camera that allows it to be used as a telephoto lens and as a macro lens at the same time, while it’s supported by Xiaomi's new Surge C1 chipset. The third ‘’first’’ concerns the installation of 4 Harman Kardon stereo speakers that offers a unique user experience.

Other notable technical features include an external display 6.5 '' OLED with rate refresh 90Hz, internal display which reaches the 8.01 '' high with a resolution of 2480 x 1860 (60Hz), powerful processor Snapdragon 888, main camera sensor 108MP Samsung ISOCELL HM2, and dual battery with a total capacity of 5020mAh that supports 67W charging (full charge in 37 minutes).

Surprisingly, the operating system is Android 10 (with MIUI user interface) and not the latest generation Android 11, but Xiaomi has made several optimizations and modifications in order to offer excellent multitasking capabilities and to take advantage of the foldable design so that the user would leave aside laptops and tablets.
