Age of Empires is coming to Xbox Series X/S, Mobile and Age of Mythology Retold announced!

It's been 25 years since the release of the first Age of Empires and Microsoft held a big celebratory event where great news emerged for the popular games, but also for the spin-off Age of Mythology.

First, the company confirmed the arrival of Age of Empires II: Definitive Edition and Age of Empires IV on Xbox Series X/S, with the former expected on January 31, 2023 and the latter later next year. At the same time, Microsoft revealed Age of Empires IV: Anniversary Edition and Season Three: Anniversary Update which brings new civilizations, challenges, features and achievements to the final installment of the series.

Also, the in-game 25th anniversary celebration has begun with various goodies and unique missions for Age of Empires IV, Age of Empires II: Definitive Edition and Age of Empires III: Definitive Edition, with the latter receiving a massive update that brings new maps, decorations and new heroes to all civilizations.

In other interesting news, the announcement of Age of Mythology Retold stands out, i.e. the Definitive Edition of the popular spin-off that deals with cultures based on Ancient Greek, Egyptian and Norse mythology. Microsoft emphasizes that we will see significant upgrades in graphics and gameplay, as well as extra hardware.

Finally, the icing on the cake is none other than Age of Empires Mobile that World's Edge is preparing for Android and iOS mobile devices! Not many details have been announced, nor the release date, but the developers promise a unique mobile game with impressive graphics and easy gameplay adapted for the small screens of smartphones.
