Apple has officially announced the new generation iPad Air equipped with the powerful M1 processor of the iPad Pro, the new front Ultra Wide camera with Center Stage function, USB-C socket for up to 2x faster data transfer, and option for 5G antenna.

The new iPad Air combines unmatched performance and an advanced camera in a slim and lightweight construction ideal for versatile use, by both casual users and content creators. With a 10.9 "Liquid Retina display (500nits brightness, True Tone function and anti-reflective coating) and 4x landscape speakers, it offers amazing stereo sound quality for watching content and listening to music. We find Touch ID again for easy and fast unlocking, but also for secure authentication of the user in applications and other processes (eg payments via Apple Pay).

Inside is the powerful Apple M1 processor that brings a giant leap in performance even in the most demanding applications, while guaranteeing great autonomy to go out comfortably during the day. The M1 chip has an 8-core CPU for 60% faster performance, while the 8-core GPU offers 2x times better graphics performance compared to the previous generation. There is also the 16-core Neural Engine that unlocks unique features with the help of advanced machine learning (eg the ability to process multiple 4K video channels, realistic augmented reality effects).

On the front of the new iPad Air there is the new 12MP UltraWide camera with support for the Center Stage function that automatically focuses on the user as he moves in space or opens the zoom when he detects other people to be included in the frame. At the back is a 12MP sensor with a wide-angle lens for great photos and 4K videos, but also for experimentation with impressive AR experiences.

Users can choose from a version with a 5G antenna that allows download speeds of up to 3.5Gbps, supports eSIM and WiFi 6 standard, while thanks to the USB-C socket you can transfer files up to 10Gbps and of course connect to a variety of external devices (storage media, cameras, keyboards up to 6K resolution screens).

The iPad Air supports the 2nd generation Apple Pencil stylus and is compatible with the Magic Keyboard, Smart Keyboard Folio and Smart Folio cases. Finally, it uses the iPadOS 15 operating system.

The new iPad Air will be available from March 18, 2022 in 5 different colors (Space Gray, Starlight, Pink, Purple, Blue).
