With an official Press Release, Remedy Entertainment has officially announced that Codename Heron will be a full sequel to Control. The studio has several projects in the works in recent months, such as Alan Wake 2 which was announced at The Game Awards 2021, but also Max Payne Remasters in collaboration with Rockstar, Codename Vanguard in collaboration with Tencent and Codename Condor as a spin -off of Control.

Control 2 (aka Codename Heron) is being developed and released in partnership with 505 Games, with Remedy paying the majority of the €50 million to be invested in the project, retaining ownership of the franchise and profit sharing 50/ 50 between the two companies. Also, Remedy will deal with the launch on PCs and 505 Games with game consoles.

Control 2 is in the early stages of development and we will have to wait a long time before we see something tangible, but the creators are already characterizing it as the biggest project they have worked on to date and say that it will be worth our wait.

Control 2 is expected on Windows PCs, PS5 and Xbox Series X/S.
