Elon Musk's immediate actions following the completion of his acquisition of Twitter, with the billionaire taking on the role of CEO himself and announcing major changes to the Twitter Blue subscription package in a bid to boost profits and fight bots and fake accounts.

The first move was the removal of high-ranking Twitter executives, and it is even rumored that it will proceed with even more layoffs in the coming months. The second is directly related to profitability and the fight against bots/fake accounts, as it announced that the Twitter Blue subscription package will now cost $8/month and only through this will you be able to have a certified account on the platform (the famous blue tick).

Other perks for Twitter Blue subscribers include priority in replies, mentions and searches, the ability to post longer video and audio messages than the current 2 minute 20 second limit, and seeing far fewer ads.

Finally, Elon Musk intends to revive the Vine service, which stopped working in 2016. This service hosted mini videos that played continuously in loops, which in the following years proved to be a particularly successful recipe for many platforms (see TikTok, Instagram Reels, YouTube Shorts). In a poll he conducted, 70% of the 5 million users who voted were positive about Vine's revival.
