Facebook introducing new messaging features for Instagram and Messenger

Last year, Facebook began merging Messenger and Instagram Direct Messages and more than 70% of Instagram users have opted into this experience, as the company said. Facebook now launched a new feature that allows users to create a group on Instagram DMs with their Messenger contacts and vice versa.

Facebook is also adding polls in Instagram DM, letting users to choose the next restaurant they want to visit or the next movie they’re going to watch. Additionally, Facebook is launching the J Balvin theme on Instagram and the Astrology Art Suite on Messenger, which includes stickers and augmented reality effects.

With all the new features on Facebook's two popular platforms, the company is trying to create similar messaging experiences to excite its users.
