Google’s Gmail app hit a huge milestone, after surpassing the 10 billion downloads on the Google Play Store in 2022, which makes it the fourth-most downloaded app in the store. The first three are Google Play Services, YouTube, and Google Maps.

According to the Google Play Store as of January 11, Google Chrome and Google Search have exceeded the limit of 10 billion downloads with Google Photos slightly behind, with more than 5 billion downloads. Gmail is currently available in 72 languages worldwide. Gmail is currently the second-largest e-mail app in the United States – the first is the Apple iPhone email app.

In October 2018, the number of Gmail users was 1.5 billion. Gmail is pre-installed on most Android devices, and since most users have used many smartphones in their lifetime, it is no surprise that this number will continue to grow steadily.
