Google is introducing new features, which were first mentioned at this year's Google I/O conference. In particular, Gems, a new feature that allows users to customize Gemini by creating their own personal AI advisors, experts in any topic they wish, is now available for Gemini Advanced, Business and Enterprise users. Similarly, Google's new image generation model, Imagen 3, is now available on Gemini, Gemini Advanced, Business and Enterprise.

Creating Gems for personalized help - from code development to career development advice

In the coming days, Gemini Advanced, Business and Enterprise subscribers can start creating and chatting with Gems, the personalized versions of Gemini first introduced at Google I/O. Users can customize Gems to act as experts on specific topics or improve them based on specific goals. Users can simply write instructions for their Gem, give it a name and then chat with it whenever they wish.

With Gems, users can create a team of experts to help them manage a challenging project, gather ideas for an upcoming event or write the perfect caption for a social media post. Gem can also remember a detailed set of instructions, helping the user save time from tedious, repetitive or difficult tasks.

To help users get started using Gems, Google is launching a range of pre-made Gems for different situations. Specifically:

  • The Learning Assistant helps analyze complex topics, making them easier to understand.
  • The idea generation assistant offers inspiration - from fresh ideas for a theme party to the perfect gift for an upcoming birthday.
  • The career guide "unlocks" the user's career potential with detailed plans for improving skills and achieving career goals.
  • The copy editor can upgrade writing through clear, constructive feedback on everything from grammar to structure.
  • The programming associate upgrades programming skills and can help create projects and fast learning (on the go).

Gems are now available on desktop and mobile devices for Gemini Advanced, Gemini Business and Gemini Enterprise users in more than 150 countries and in most languages.

Creating high-quality images with Imagen 3

Google has upgraded its creative imaging capabilities, and, in the coming days, will launch its latest imaging model, Imagen 3, on Gemini, on desktop and mobile devices , while expanding its availability for users in all languages.

Imagen 3 sets a new standard for image quality, creating images with just a few words. Users can even ask Gemini to create images in different styles - such as photorealistic landscapes, relief oil paintings or imaginative animation scenes using plasticine.

Imagen 3 offers advanced image generation capabilities, with built-in protection measures aligned with Google's product design principles. Across a wide range of evaluations, Imagen 3 performs better than other available image production models. In addition, as with Imagen 2, the company uses SynthID, Google's tool for watermarking AI-generated images.

Google's design principles are clear: From start to finish, the user remains in control of the creative process. If the original image they receive doesn't meet their expectations, they can simply tell Gemini what they would like to change and it will provide them with a new image.

In the coming days, the company will also launch the production of images with people, with an early access version for Gemini Advanced, Business and Enterprise users, starting with the English language. Google has ensured that technical improvements, evaluations and red-teaming exercises are made in the product, while making the principles of the product clear.

With Imagen 3, significant progress has been made in providing a better user experience when creating images of people. Google does not support the creation of photorealistic, identifiable people, depictions of minors, or overly bloody, violent or sexual scenes. Of course, not all images created by Gemini will be perfect, but the company will continue to listen to feedback from users with early access to Gemini Advanced to continue to improve. These new features will be made available gradually, with the goal of making the model available to more users and languages soon.
