27 April 2022

One year after the announcement of the privacy labels at the Google I / O 2021 conference, the company starts launching these tabs in the Google Play Store in order to fully and in advance inform the users about how the applications manage their data .

To be precise, Google now requires developers to answer some key questions for each of their applications, which are:

  • Is data collected from the application and if so, for what purpose?
  • Do they share this data with third parties?
  • Is data protected by encryption technology?
  • Is the application certified to a global security standard?
  • Is the application compliant with the Google Play Store child protection policy?

These tabs have already started to appear to some users, while by July 20, 2022, all applications should have the corresponding information tab. It will be very useful to know from the beginning what personal data an application accesses and how it uses it before you decide to download it to your device.
