Once again, Google decides to modify the functionality of its services due to an emergency. The company confirmed that it will temporarily stop showing the traffic situation on the streets and shops of Ukraine in the service Google Maps, due to the invasion of Russia.

The decision was made in consultation with the Ukrainian authorities, in order to protect the citizens of the country. Nevertheless, information on the (traffic) situation on the country's roads will continue to appear to those drivers who choose turn-by-turn navigation.

Google did not disclose exactly the reasons that led it to this decision and left only to the general protection of citizens. It is rumored, however, that she took into account the fact that many received news that something was happening in Ukraine due to the sudden heavy traffic on the border with Russia.

It should be noted that several technology companies are taking measures against the Russian invasion, such as Meta, which restricts the operation of Russian government accounts, and Twitter, which bans advertising in Russia and Ukraine to avoid misinformation.
